Playgrounds in Malaga

Malaga is unquestionably one of the best destinations you can visit if you’re travelling with children. The Costa del Sol’s capital has countless activities for kids, including a large number of playgrounds in Malaga that can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
We set out a list containing some of the best playgrounds on the Costa del Sol below.


Playgrounds in the city of Malaga

Parque del Cine, Malaga

This playground in Malaga is one of the newest playgrounds in the city and, as its name suggests, is themed around the cinema. In addition, the children’s area will delight the even smallest kids with zip lines, large slides and a basketball court. It is one the venues where open-air movies are screened free of charge in the summer at the Local Council’s initiative.

Parque del Centro, Malaga

This is the city’s oldest and most classical park. It contains a wide variety of plants and trees from different areas, as well as two children’s playgrounds where you can have a drink while watching over your children.

In addition, it usually hosts Christmas markets, the book fair and different kinds of stands depending on the occasion.

Parque del Oeste, Malaga

This is one of the oldest parks in the west of Malaga and has undoubtedly become one of the city’s best parks to enjoy with children since it was renovated a decade ago. It has a small area containing animals, where there are kangaroos, along with some tables and a large garden area where you can enjoy an open-air picnic.

Parque Infantil del Palmeral de las Sorpresas

This is Malaga’s newest playground and is located on the recently restored Muelle Uno. The play area is made entirely of wood and very original. Just next to it, you can find some attractions for children, along with bicycle and toy car rental stands for them.

Parque de Huelin, Malaga

This park is equipped with a skating rink and a play area for small kids. It also has a dog area if you want to go with your pet. Bicycles and vehicles for both children and adults can be rented. Though the park isn’t very large, you can continue strolling along the Huelin seaside promenade and enjoy a drink in the restaurant area.

Playgrounds on the Malaga coast

Parque de La Batería, Torremolinos

This is one of Malaga’s best playgrounds, since it has an artificial lake where boats can be hired for only €1. There is also a carousel whose entrance fee only costs 50 cents, a lighthouse where you can enjoy the best views of the Malaga coastline and a playground equipped with slides that will thrill any child.
Bear in mind that the queues to hire boats are usually quite long. We therefore recommend you go very early.

Parque de la Paloma, Benalmádena

The well-known Parque de la Paloma is located right in the centre of Arroyo de la Miel. This open-air park is ideal for both small children and adults. It is very common to see entire families or groups of friends enjoying a picnic in the sun and children running after a large number of animals that live in it and range free.
Moreover, the playground was renovated a few years ago and has several hanging bridges, trampolines and swings.
