When making a reservation with Niza Cars, basic liability insurance cover with excess is included in case you are involved in any accident or the vehicle is stolen as long as there is no negligence on your part. In an effort to be more transparent and give you all the information you need to make a good decision, we shall explain the different alternatives available to you.
Niza Cars always recommends that you carefully read the terms and conditions of the rental and choose the star insurance plan with no deposits to enjoy your hired vehicle with complete peace of mind.
Upon picking up your vehicle, the basic insurance plan is automatically included in your rental price with an excess ranging from €1,200 to €3,000 depending on the vehicle category.
These amounts will be withheld on your credit card for rentals up to 7 days. For 8-28 day rentals, you will be charged. These amounts correspond to the maximum amount to be deducted in the event you are involved in an accident or if the vehicle is stolen provided that there is no negligence on your part. You will be fully liable for any damages to wheels, windows and any other part of the vehicle not covered by any type of insurance such as the underbody or interior.
Whenever the vehicle is involved in an accident or any damage is caused to the vehicle, the customer is required to complete the friendly accident report with the other party’s details (you can find one in the glove compartment of the vehicle). If this report is not completed within 48 hours after the incident, you will automatically be considered negligent and will be liable for all the damages.
Upon picking up your vehicle, insurance with €0 excess is automatically included in the rental price for any damages to the bodywork. This means you will be liable for €0 for any damage to the body of the vehicle. The amounts that will be charged to your card range from €300 to €700 depending on the vehicle category.
These amounts will be withheld on your credit card for rentals up to 7 days. For 8-28 day rentals, you will be charged. You will be fully liable for any damages to wheels, windows and any other part of the vehicle not covered by any type of insurance such as the underbody or interior.

Our Star Insurance plan is the best cover you can find for your rental as it is a synonymous to peace of mind. You will not be liable for any damage to the bodywork, wheels or glass nor will you be liable for theft.
If you take out this insurance, the daily amount will be charged as well as the deposit for the petrol and keys. The maximum amount is €300. By taking out this insurance you will be covered for the following:
- Damages to the bodywork.
- Damages to tyres, rims and hubcaps.
- Vehicle windows.
- Theft.
- Roadside assistance.
- Days stopped due to a breakdown.
- Fine processing.
- An additional driver.
